Nub theory vs pregnancy symptoms, girl or boy?

Hi
Anyone want to play guess the sex?

16 weeks today and impatiently waiting for my 20 week scan to hopefully find out the sex. This is the best 12 week photo I think for nub guesses.

I've had brutal all day morning sickness, cravings for sweet things and crazy spots which apparently means I'm having a girl but I'm not sure how much faith to put in everything I read. Just want to find out already so I can get even more carried away nursery planning Grin

I can’t see the nub clearly in your picture so hard to say. For what it’s worth I had no morning sickness with my son and was big all over, where as with my daughter I had awful morning sickness from 6 to 20 weeks and put on no weight but had a perfect neat high bump (probably due to the sickness in hindsight Grin) I also seemed to stop growing body hair when pregnant with my DD which was odd, think I only needed to shave my legs about 4 times in the whole 9 months!

Oops just realised I used the wrong photo, I've reported it as its got personal details on. I blame the baby brain!

Have you got a 12 week scan photo so you can see the forehead sideways on?

SequinSmile · 09/10/2020 19:45

I don't think symptoms mean much. I had such dreadful morning sickness with my son that I was admitted to hospital and diagnosed with HG so fairly confident sickness does not mean girl. I am rubbish at identifying the nub on scans but lots of people say that's a good indicator. I'll give you a girl guess anyway! Congratulations!

I guess boy.
I had terrible morning sickness with my DS1 and craved peanut butter. With the baby, DS2, I had terrible sickness again and crave sweet stuff. With my 2 Dds I didn't have such bad morning sickness and also craved fruit! 🤷‍♀️

Same here with the high big bump everyone thought as it was out in front I was having a boy. Horrific (Hypermesis) sickness and strangely like you no body hair! Had a DD

I have two girls and one boy. My tow girls both had rounded foreheads, my son”s was flatter. All three pregnancies were the same, nausea but no morning sickness, same weight gain in all pregnancies. The only difference was I couldn’t stand the smell or taste of fish when I was pregnant with my son. That was the only difference.

Good luck, hope you enjoy your pregnancy.

Cantbutwill · 09/10/2020 19:51

I think that’s quite a clear boy nub. My pregnancies were the polar opposite of each other, one great, one sickness all the way through, not the same sex.

Cantbutwill · 09/10/2020 19:52

*meant to say they WERE the same sex Grin

Sevo7 · 09/10/2020 20:07

I can see the nub much more clearly in your 2nd photo, looks very girly to me!

Whatthedoodle · 09/10/2020 20:32

I can’t see a nub on your scan picture, but I have 2 sons who I had absolutely no sickness with whatsoever, not even any nausea. I’m 15 weeks pregnant with #3, I had horrific nausea that left me bed ridden despite no actual vomiting. I found out a couple of days ago that I’m having a girl!

ivfbeenbusy · 10/10/2020 00:33

Scan photo 100% boy

I didn't have any more sickness with DD and am pregnant with twins - a boy and girl and also zero morning sickness - I think it's genetic more than anything else

RoseGoldEagle · 10/10/2020 01:54

By skull theory that really looks like a girl to me- both my girls had rounded skulls like that, DS’s was quite different. Agree that symptoms don’t mean much- has really bad sickness with DD1, no sickness with DS, then no sickness this pregnancy- assumed was another boy but is a girl, so think your body just responds to different pregnancies differently, irrespective of sex.

Highheels87 · 10/10/2020 21:49

Congratulations, I would say boy.

I had sickness with my two dds and nothing at all this time other than nausea and found out having a little boy 🙂
