I had an elective section, I felt completely back to normal after 2 weeks. No issues with the scar, it's there, it doesn't bother me. If I were having more children I'd 100% have an ELCS again.

I don't remember it hurting, I took paracetamol as they told me but it must have been mild pain.

It was hard to sit up unsupported for about 4 days but once I was up I was fine. I was ready to drive at 2 weeks but waited until 4 weeks.

No ongoing problems of any sort

I went home after 24 hours, and took paracetamol and ibuprofen on a schedule rather than waiting for pain (recommended by medics).

At 5 days I went to the GP (midwife thought my incision might be infected; it wasn't). DH dropped me at the surgery, and I said I'd walk to the car (maybe 200m?) afterwards. I regretted it. However at 2 weeks I walked a mile comfortably.

I had an ELCS, with an experienced surgeon because of previous surgery I've had - he went in very slowly (took about 20 mins from first incision to DD being born), and I'm sure that helped with a relatively good recovery.
