Do they test for Vit D and Iron in 12 week blood tests

I am completely exhausted all the time and napping every day. I do take pregnacare multivitamins but its possible they arent giving what i need. I would call my GP and ask for a blood test for the usual suspects ie vitamin D and iron, but seems daft to double up if that was tested for on Monday when i went for my 12 week scan at the hospital. In which case my results are due soon (well i hope soon!)

Does anyone know what they test for in those blood tests at the 12 week scan appointment? They took 4 vials but i dont know what they are testing for other than the 3 'syndromes'.

Also any tips on coping with fatigue (other than many naps!) very welcome. I feel very guilty about how unproductive i have been at work over the last few weeks

They checked my iron levels but they didn't check my vit D levels.

Thanks

Hmm so maybe worth me asking GP. Will see if test results turn up this week and if not will try GP Monday. I feel like I am just sleeping my way through pregnancy!

They check iron as standard & they also checked my Vit d on my request with dc4 because I'd been having problems with it being low anyway. So it might be worth mentioning it at the time as well as speaking to your gp.

That being said exhaustion is pretty normal in the early part of pregnancy. I'd have spent my life sleeping if I hadn't had to work/then younger dc to look after.

Early pregnancy is exhausting! I would get home from work and get straight into bed, DH would wake me up for dinner then it was bath and back to bed! I think it is completely normal.

Awful fatigue is pretty normal in the early stages of pregnancy (and later!) so it could just be that rather than a deficiency. With my first I just used to go to bed as soon as I got in from work, get up to eat something and go straight back to bed again. Started to feel loads better about week 16.
