Missed period but on pill? Can I be pregnant?

Hi there.

I have been on the combined pill for years no issues. I normally take my 7 day break and have a bleed. I was reading to evidence that suggests you can have a 4 day break which is actually better. I have done this before a few times and had a bleed with no issue. So again this month I stopped my pill sat night and started it again thurs night (4 day break) but I havent had a period? I took all my pills as I should have. There was a few occassions where I had an upset tummy and took some loperamide to calm it but no sickness etc. Also ive noticed im getting up.almost every night to pee sometimes twice a night? I usually always bleed so finding this concerning? Is it possible I could be pregnant?

Do you mean you had diarrhoea? That can affect the pill too. Were you having sex around the time you weren't well?

Perhaps the 4 day break was too short to cause the withdrawal bleed this time?
When on the pill my wouldn't start bleeding until 4 days after into the break for sure.
So if you start taking it again it might just prevent it altogether.
But you can take a test in two weeks to find out.

Yes, you could be pregnant. Unlikely. But take a test in a few weeks

Thanks for the replies. Yeh I had some loose stools and took loperamide to settle my tummy. Perhaps the 4 day break just wasnt long enough? Might just stick to the classic 7 days. I am def peeing more than normal, getting period cramps but no blood? Also random but my dogs been really weird and clingy with me which he normally isnt?

I would take a test. My friend had been using the same contraception for 8 years and found out she was 16 weeks pregnant!

It’s possible you are pregnant, I know at least 4 people that have got pregnant on the pill, one of them twice!

I will buy a test to find out. Just find it really odd I havent had a bleed as even with a 4 day break I thought you should bleed? And I have previously when I done this before. A bit terrified as my relationship has just ended (spent a year of my life being cheated on and lied to) but equally if there was a chance I could be I know me and baby would be fine.

On the pill, not had AF since the 2/12/20 feeling bloated and a few other symptoms.
Taken 4 Sainsbury test all negative.. so confused 🤷‍♀️ Can 4 test be wrong?
