@Annu786
Until 24 weeks babies don't have to be felt every day... they have so much room in there and different positions mean you may not feel them for days!!

At 18 weeks that's pretty common as they are still tiny and a position change can completely change the feeling of movement. As always, though, if you're worried, call the midwife for advice: they are professionals and can reassure you. It is ALWAYS better to call if you're unsure: you are never wasting their time.
I didn't really feel any movement until after 20 weeks and it wasn't clear or consistent until after 28 weeks, which is later than average but still normal -- I did go and get checked a couple of times and they were always happy to have me in: better to be safe :)

Thank you
I have called up the hospital and they said the same I can go in if I’m really concerned but it’s normal not too feel movement everyday so early on

You won’t feel regular movements until around 28 weeks, at 18 weeks it depends a lot on position of the baby how much you feel. Some people don’t start feeling movements until 24 weeks. Don’t worry too much but if you are concerned definitely call your midwives 😊

It's recommended not to monitor movements until 24 weeks ☺

I completely understand as I have felt movement everyday since 14 weeks. They are getting stronger by the day.
I'm now 21 weeks and if I don't feel him for a few hours I start to panic but then he reassures me and starts of again. He is an active little man.
I have a low posterior placenta so that may be why I feel every single movement he makes.

Annu786 · 03/10/2020 16:37

Earlier did you go any days without feeling him at all.

It’s normal especially that early. Even late in my pregnancy my DD didn’t move unless prodded hard but she was just a lazy sod.

Carabu1 · 03/10/2020 16:53

I am now 28 weeks and only felt movement for first time last week....! It’s really normal so early for it to come and go, so if I was you I’d try and relax about it. If at 22/24 weeks you’re still worried I’d call triage.

Annu786 · 03/10/2020 17:38

Lazy 😆
Hopefully that the case 🙏🏼

I'm 21 weeks with baby number 5, and I don't feel regular movements yet, just the odd little movement here and there, alls fine though, I wouldn't worry at 18 weeks, it's common for you not feel it regularly.

Annu786 · 05/10/2020 12:44

Thank you for the reassurance

32 weeks here and baby still doesn't have a movement pattern and I can go for hours and hours without feeling anything! Every baby is so different. Still scary when you don't feel them though! I would say that no matter what if you do have a worry ring the midwife. Better to get checked out 100 times and baby be fine than not get checked out and something be wrong x
