Hi all hoping someone can help. I am early stages of pregnancy (5+4) with baby number two. My son will be one next week. The last two days I have had the most incredibly painful legs- really heavy feeling and then very crampy. Feel like two lumps of lead! Don’t remember having this first time round- is this normal?! Also anything I can do to help? Had warm bath last night but no better this morning despite a good nights sleep. Help please!

Magnesium tablets helped me, couldn't be without them now at 36 weeks. I've had restless leg, cramps/charley horse since about 12 weeks.

Pregnancy can cause awful cramps in your leg muscles often at night and restless legs, plenty of salts/magnesium as the other poster said. Also low iron is linked to restless legs so they'll be testing your iron levels at your booking in appointment or 12 week scan depending on if the first appointment is still over the phone due to covid. Or I guess it could be due to all the ligament stretching that happens once pregnant, could it be that or nerve? X
