Braxton Hicks WAY worse second time around?

Hey!

This is my second pregnancy, I'm 27 weeks tomorrow and holy moly these braxton hicks are no joke at all.

Has anyone else experienced painful braxton hicks second time around?

Any tips because I'm sure they're worse than actual real contractions sometimes haha?!

Apparently so. I had a Google a few weeks back and the result came back that Braxton Hicks are often worse the second time around.

@FourPlasticRings right! All I've been doing is googling just incase, it's made me think do bad bad braxton hicks have any correlation with going into labour early? Because if I keep having them this bad surely it'll be a miracle to get to 40 weeks. I know my body needs to practice but come on! Hahaha x

I don't know about that. I'm 40 weeks tomorrow and still pregnant, despite having my first at 39+0. 🤷

@FourPlasticRings oh well then, I mean I went into labour at 40+1 with my son but, this time honestly I need all the time I can get. They can stay cooking for as long as possible.
I just can't get over how bad these pains are this time!
I hope you're feeling ok! Xxx

Not to alarm but maybe mention it to your midwife? Only because I thought I was having bad Braxton Hicks at 34 weeks with my second baby and he arrived in a big rush about 4 hours after the first twinge.

mamah2019 · 30/09/2020 12:01

@Mylittlepony374 I've only had them 1-2 times a day for the last 4 days or so, they're not in a pattern but seem to happen in the afternoon/ evenings/ night. I'm not too too concerned at the moment just a bit taken back by the overall pain to be honest. But yes for sure I'll keep an eye for sure!
Oh what a story with your Son by the way, something to tell him about right! X

That's good to hear. Yes, his birth was a wild ride, and he's still a little hurricane!

Mine are. I don’t think I even got any Braxton Hicks with the first. I get them constantly with the second, more in the evenings. So uncomfortable and annoying! Not painful though.
