I'm very puffy and swollen?!

I woke up this morning and yesterday with hands so puffy it hurts to bend my fingers. And the same yesterday.

I can't get shoes on my feet are so swollen too. I'm nearly 37 weeks and due to see the midwife Friday.

Has anyone else had this? Totally normal part of being this heavily pregnant or something to call triage over?

Could be a sign of pre eclampsia - I would go in so they can check your blood pressure if it is significant and sudden.

I do swell with water retention but it’s more gradual than overnight

I had swollen feet and ankles. But as previoud poster said can be a sign of something going wrong. I was monitored for high BP in pg. (With subsequent kids my BP was much lower and I didn't have the same level of swelling).

Call your midwife and ask for a check. Or call your doctors surgery and explain.

It's probably nothing to worry about. But doesn't hurt to be safe. (You can look at my history.....I am not a go to the doctor all the time person.....but they are there for when needed.)

I'd just ring midwife today and ask her advice
Hope all goes well - I was extremely edematous and was monitored for preeclampsia

Thanks all. I'll just give them a call. My blood pressure was ok last Thursday, high for me but not out of the normal range but it was the day before we moved house so I expected to be a bit stressed!

I got really swollen towards the end of my last pregnancy and my midwife saw me weekly to check my blood pressure and urine. All was good though ! Speak to your midwife for sure !!! I’m sure it’s normal though !
