Hi everyone,

I’m 33+4 with my first baby. Past few days I’ve had on/off period type cramps but today seems worse. Just wondering is this normal at this stage?

Call your midwife right away.

I don't believe feeling strong cramps is normal at this stage and you need a medical professional to diagnose.

@lemorella thanks. I’ll contact them

Don't panic if I remember right I had this too. Our body has to prepare for something HUGE.
Keep us updated

Yes get in touch with your midwife either your community or the hospital team. Both of my labours started with period like cramping, but please don't panic - might just be some twinges as everything is shifting around

It's a strange one as it could mean something very serious or it could just be tightening and braxton hicks. For me they were BH starting at 33 weeks, for my friend it was labour. Best to always get checked out as every individual reacts differently at each stage.

Thanks all, pains eased off but seem to come and go. Waiting for midwife to reply. I’m hoping it’s just stretching or something
