Bleeding/spotting - possible MC? Clearer test after 2 days? *test pictures included*

I'm looking for ladies who have had a similar thing happen for some advice on what I could expect.
I started my period on it's due date, although it was so much lighter than usual, it didnt seem as though it had actually started.
On day 3 it was a little heavier but after that, it trailed off again and after 5 days (my period is usually quite heavy for 7 days) all I had was spotting again.
This lasted for 12 days (still spotting slightly day 14) so I went to 111 online and a nurse called me. They asked if I could be pregnant and due to the bleeding I assumed I wasn't so I took a test and it was a very strong positive much to my surprise!
I called 111 back and advised I had a positive test and a dr called me back and advised that it can be nothing to worry about but to book an appointment to see my GP today for some blood tests for HCG increases.
My GP said that I needed to book a midwife appointment for 8 weeks pregnant (i am currently 5 wks) and has sent me for bloods tomorrow and Friday.
He also said that due to bleeding it is referred to as a miscarriage at present even if I don't miscarry so I am obviously expecting the worst.
Has anyone had similar bleeding during early pregnancy?

Also took 2 HPT, 2 days apart. The more recent looks darker to me? Surely this is a good sign? Does it look darker to you?

Thanks

Pregnancy tests will show as positive as long as there is a reasonable amount of HCG in your blood, but that doesn't necessarily mean your pregnancy is progressing smoothly if that makes sense. I had a positive test back in Jan and then started getting spotting on and off but I was testing most days and they were all strong positives. However my HCG wasn't increasing as fast as it should and the spotting eventually turned into proper bleeding after about 2 weeks which is when I should have been 6 weeks pregnant. i continued to get posiive pregnancy tests for another week or so after that, it takes a while for the HCG to leave your blood.

Therefore I'd say don't torture yourself by repeatedly testing, if you have a strong positive now then the chances are you will still have one in a couple of days regardless of whether the pregnancy is progressing smoothly or not. The most accurate indicator will be the blood tests, and if they are increasing ok then they may send you for a scan in a couple of weeks. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you xx

@Jcoll - I’m in the same boat as you. Had my period like normal from the 1st of September and then had 5 positive ovulation tests in a row and started bleeding. It’s now nearly the end of September and I’m still bleeding and have been everyday but pregnancy tests are still positive. I have no idea what’s going on and the doctor keeps on telling me that there’s nothing they can do unless I have pain. It’s annoying because they have have given me a midwife appointment of the 28th of October which is ages away and I keep wondering what is going on 😫😫 xx

My spotting has stopped. I bled for a couple of days and then had spotting for 9 days. My gp referred me for hcg blood tests. Went to the first one today. My second is Friday so should know by mid next week. My midwife appointment is 21st October. Might push for an early scan before hand if it's good news next week. Fingers crossed for you! Xx

@Jcoll - that’s such good news because at least you will have some answers! I rang the doctors again today to see if I could have an earlier appointment but they still said no! I feel a bit let down really because I never use the doctors and the one time I am genuinely concerned they won’t see me :( I’ve booked a scan with a local private clinic on the 14th of October so hopefully they will be able to give me some advice then :) let me know how your blood results go! xx

That really sucks Sad! It's just a horrible waiting game isn't it?
Best of luck for your scan, keep me updated too! Xxx
