To be cautious in early pregnancy

Am I being unreasonable? I had some bleeding at 5 weeks and now I am 6 weeks all seems okay so far. But I am being really cautious and trying not to get too attached until my 12 week scan. Did anyone else go through this? I'm also really paranoid every time I go for a wee if I see blood again. I really want this baby but super scared as my first pregnancy.

I was exactly the same - think it's totally normal! I also didn't have many symptoms which made me worry more!

What helped me was having an early scan (private) so that I could actually see there was a baby in there!

I definitely felt like this. I think the more you read on the internet and forums like this the more paranoid you get! The odds of a healthy pregnancy are far higher though.
I second what @H8624 said about the early scan. I had one at 9 weeks and it really helped.
I also had a bleed at 6 weeks and convinced myself of the worst but I’m 13 weeks now and all seems fine.

I'm 6+2 and doing everything I can not to get carried away but it is hard.

I've got an early scan on Sunday which will hopefully bring some relief but even then I know it's still a possibility that things can go wrong.

You're definitely not alone in feeling paranoid.

I second what @YorkshireGirl35 said, all of the stuff online and even sometimes these forums can make you feel more anxious as is so much conflicting information and stuff.
I had a call with my midwife yesterday to get some advice on losing some weight as I'm only 5+1 and she said to take anything you see with a pinch of salt as it definitely causes you to be more anxious. When I found out, the first few days my anxiety was so bad. I spoke to my friend who said just take it in small steps, each day you're still pregnant and worrying wont help the baby you're growing and it really helped.
I started taking some time for myself and trying not to look at anything online later and have stopped googling symptoms and stuff! X
I've also booked an 8week scan for some reassurance xx
