Anyone else around the 20 week/half way point? I’m 19+5 today.

How you finding it?

This is a totally different experience for me then with DC1:

  • I know the sex (didn’t last time)
  • had my 20 week scan already (didn’t until 22 weeks last time)
  • ELCS all booked in (went for natural last time)

As DC1 is only 14 months (and same sex!) I’m all set on the baby front so don’t really need to buy anything so now I’m literally sat waiting for 39 weeks with not much to do in between!!

Got to sort the nursery, buy a few bits and pack a bag Confused

Started to feel proper kicks this week as well (anterior placenta) and I’ve got a bump. So it feels real and not real all at the same time.

How are you doing?

I’m 22 weeks tomorrow, my first is 9 so quite an age gap. Had to buy everything again but not finding out sex so all neutral. I’ve noticed no one seems as excited about it this time and as we’re trying to find somewhere to live I haven’t been able to do the nursery or anything. Been harder to feel excited this time, just a lot more stressed

StewieGriffinKnowsWhatsUp · 22/09/2020 11:13

I agree @Oneandabean with no one being as excited with the second. Hopefully that will change when baby arrives! I think because you’ve done it before people are just like ‘oh yeah she’s pregnant’ (to be fair with running around after DC1 I keep forgetting I’m pregnant too!)

It does sound like you’ve got a lot going on. Nursery isn’t massively important as baby will be in with you for the first however long. Fingers crossed you get somewhere to move to soon!

Oooh me! I'm 19+1. I'm finding it a lot more stressful this time around (it's my third), and have had bleeding due to some hematoma which I've never had with my first two!

As there is a 6 year age gap, I've also been told by my midwife it's more like a first pregnancy - which seems to be true, as I've not properly felt them move yet and have a tiny bump!

Wedding2018 · 22/09/2020 18:23

Im 21 weeks ,got a small bump so dont feel or look pregnant yet because I was already overweight before pregnancy, getting hip pain at night but pregnancy pillow really help highly recommended getting one .

elfran · 22/09/2020 18:28

I'm 18+4, so not quite halfway but nearly. This is my first so nothing to compare it to, but feeling pretty good. Looking forward to my scan next Friday, which will be bang on 20 weeks for me. I do have a definite small bump which I wasn't expecting yet (maybe because I'm very short?) and starting to have trouble sleeping as well. But DH surprised me with a pregnancy pillow today so really excited to try it out tonight! Grin

IamC · 22/09/2020 20:27

I hit the half way mark tomorrow, though I am convinced I won't make it to 40 weeks - our family has a history of prem babies.

Also got my scan tomorrow too. Excited / nervous!

Applesnow22 · 22/09/2020 20:34

21 weeks here!

We are not finding out the gender until the day of!

Had my anatomy exam and just waiting on the results.
Cannot wait to meet this little person Smile

Kicks/movements haven't been too strong, even though this is my 2nd child which freaks me out a little bit.

Wonder if anyone else has been feeling the same.

StewieGriffinKnowsWhatsUp · 22/09/2020 21:53

Ooo more people!

@BatmanBaby yes I imagine after that long your body is remembering it all again! A blessing in some ways I imagine.

@Wedding2018 my pregnancy pillow came out the day the test was positive. I’ve never seen DH look so disappointed. I loved my pillow first time around and only agreed to putting it away on the condition I got an extra pillow for between my legs Grin

@elfran I had a lovely little ‘she’s eaten too much dinner’ bump by 20 weeks with DC1, this time around I looked 20 weeks at 12 Blush

@IamC exciting! I’m sure your scan will go fine. Mine wouldn’t sit still the whole way through the little bugger.

@Applesnow22 me! But I have anterior placenta again. Do you know where your placenta is at it really mutes your movement. The midwife told me to enjoy it now because in 10 weeks time when you’re getting kicked in the crotch at 3am you’ll miss these times Grin I much preferred not knowing what baby was with DC1 but thought it was easier this time around to know. (Still a bit gutted I know Confused but only that I know and not what it is IYSWIM!)

Wedding2018 · 22/09/2020 22:08

Anyone feel really hunger at the moment, i can eat dinner and still feel hungry after

SearchingForToes · 22/09/2020 23:05

Hi all! 19+5 here, still feels like a long way off!

Little one has started dancing now which is fun - started feeling movement around 15w this time (I have a 2 year old but mostly due to a lack of any abs I think!!).

Scan on Monday is the next big milestone. Planning not to find out sex if I can resist temptation...

@Wedding2018 I am so hungry ALL THE TIME. No matter what I eat, I’m pecking again an hour later. Don’t remember it being this bad the first time round... although I had time to sit down then 😂

IamC · 23/09/2020 03:58

@Wedding2018 insatiable hunger most days! Try to keep my snacking healthy though.

Anyone else part of the wide awake club? I rarely get a full nights sleep these days. It doesn't help with side sleeping....I'm a face down or face up kinda sleeper usually.

ivfbeenbusy · 23/09/2020 08:08

I'm 18 weeks but having twins so they have to come out early so technically I'm half way now!
Agree about the lack of excitement- my family bit disinterested even though we lost 6 babies and did 5 rounds of IVF to get this far. But I'm just trying to enjoy it as much as possible although physically having twins is very hard - I'm probably as big now as I was at about 8 months pregnant with DD. We know we are having a boy and a girl but not going to buy anything until 20-24 weeks in case something goes wrong x

Wedding2018 · 23/09/2020 18:02

@IamC
Im the same,i go to sleep on my side with my sleeping pillow but my knee or hip pain always wake me up during the night or my very loud snoring husband next to me
