Sore nipples pregnancy sign or AF sign

Hi everyone.

Hubby and I are TTC, I was on the pill for 15 years the last 5 years I have taken the pill non stop with no breaks due to painful periods (advised to do so by gynae)

I came off the pill 5 weeks ago, had spotting/light period about 3 weeks ago.

As it’s been so long since my last period I thought I was experiencing AF symptoms but the last few days I’ve had weird cramps below (been almost a week) and my nipples (just the tips) turned purple and are quite sore and sensitive, my boobs are fine. Not had symptoms like this before with my periods so thought I’d ask for some advice!

Buy a pregnancy test tomorrow and then you'll know.

Your body will probably be acting weird with coming off birth control so I’d probably hold off trying to do the symptom spotting thing. I never got sore boobs when pregnant until around the 6 week mark and then it was my boobs that were sore not my nipples. I found that being pregnant and getting my period gave me the same symptoms anyway, I only knew I was pregnant by lack of a period and a positive test.

If you think you have pregnancy symptoms take a test.

@Sunshinedaisy1890 I was on the pill for over 10 years and once I came off my nipples were super sore. I also had really sore nipples just after conceiving though too. Have you had any other symptoms? x

Could you have ovulated?

I get cramps and twinges when i ovulate followed by sore boobs right to the run up of AF arriving (sometimes i know AF has arrived without even checking as my boobs instantly go back to normal)

Sore nipples have been my pregnancy give away both times - they’ve started hurting within days. I conceived within a month of trying after coming off the pill so can’t compare recent notes but I was off it for a while a few years back (not TTC, just having a break) and don’t remember getting them then. Everyone is different but don’t rule it out ☺️
