How long did your brown spotting last?

I am 4 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I have posted about this when it started but I wanted to ask about others experiences on this thread.

What is normal?

I have now been having brown spotting only when I go to the toilet for 5 days (pretty much like brown discharge dripping each time I go to the loo) - TMI. Pretty much nothing in knickers if anything.

My test lines have been going darker although I haven't tested for 2 says now. Plan to test on Tuesday when I turn 5 weeks as the doctor said to do that and call back if it is still positive at 5 weeks.

What are your brown spotting experiences and what is considered normal?

If it's brown it's old blood so that's good news, I wouldn't worry unless it gets heavier/redder Smile

@lucymagoo that's what is keeping me going and that it is extremely light thank you!

@Lowprofilename that makes me feel hopeful. Everything online says it should only last up to 3 days if it's implantation and we have also not had sex for a week (I'm too nervous to in case it ruins anythingSad) so I'm guessing it can't be irritated cervix. I'm just not sure what it must be coming from Hmmxx

Light thin brown spotting for 5 days instead of my usual very heavy period no red blood present no clots no pink either. Could it be pregnancy or more likely stress/hormones? I’m on cycle day 33 and my average cycle is 28 according to my period tracker.

@Februaryjuly
I have had 4 miscarriages and 1 cp and brown spotting was never a good sign for me, people docs an all told me it's brown so old blood which got my hopes up, when I look back I wish someone had of told me it could go either way, hope you have a better outcome than me, I'm not telling my story to scare u I would of just liked the different outcomes from people who have been through it.
