Yes! I did with DS, it went down pretty much straight after he was born at 37+6. Lots of water retention in those last couple of weeks! People were asking if I'd had lip filler as everything ballooned - yeah, course I've had a load of filler whilst heavily pregnant 🤔😂. Currently 33 weeks with number 2 and waiting to see if it comes on as strong this time!

Don’t worry, it’s only a pregnancy thing, I look back at photos of when I was pregnant and my face looks so fat, it goes back to normal!

When I hit 37 weeks with DS, I absolutely ballooned everywhere with water retention. My face was nearly unrecognisable and my legs were one thickness all the way down, they looked like elephant legs! All went within a couple of days after DS was born at 38+1.

I am also now 33 weeks with DC2, and waiting to see if it happens again...

Oh the chubby face! Mine disappeared after a few weeks post birth. I think mine might have been due to eating a pudding after every meal from week 35 onwards though.

yep same - my lip piercing feels sore lol

Crimblecrumble1990 · 18/09/2020 10:35

Yep, my DH took a pic of me on our last walk pre baby that he keeps threatening to get framed. I can barely walk due to the sciatica and my face is about 3 times it's normal size. It definitely goes as soon as baby is born!

I hate my pregnancy face! I loose all definition at all and just look puffy and tired. Don’t look like me at all! Looking forward to it going down once baby is here (due today so hopefully not too much longer!)

Hi!
.yes, I was like that and my nose was bigger too - It is just over three weeks since I have given birth and my face and chin has pretty much gone back to normal.

Give your midwife a quick ring if it's come on suddenly. It may well just be water retention (as PP have said), but it can also be a sign of pre-eclampsia (two of my friends had this, one to the point where I literally walked past her in the doctor's waiting room, she was so unrecognisable - she had an emergency c-section at 32 weeks less than 24 hours later!) Definitely worth getting it checked out.

justchecking1 · 18/09/2020 16:31

I was just going to mention the pre-eclampsia angle. My face suddenly seemed fatter over a matter of days, not enormously so but noticeable to me.

I had pre-eclampsia diagnoses a day later...

Cherrytangfastic · 18/09/2020 16:38

It will go! Mine ballooned too and I panicked. It went away after the birth thankfully

sandycloud · 18/09/2020 16:41

I started a new job when I was about 30 weeks pregnant. When I went back after 5 months off one colleague told me how different I looked. Not like a fat person!!!! Kind of a compliment????

LolaLollypop · 18/09/2020 16:44

Someone actually asked if I’d had lip injections when I was pregnant with DS. I had massive Kardashian style lips (probably fluid retention). I quite liked them actually! Grin Gone back to normal now.
