Curious? What would cause slightly measure above but nothing seems done about it just said it normal. Hearing measuring slightly above suggests something bad ?

I was fat on 1st pregnancy and measured over, bbay was 7.12 born.
2nd preg I was measuring small but I stayed slim and baby was born 6.7.
So I guess my weight made a difference as was only a pound difference in babies but a fair few stone in mine 🤣

My fundal height was off the chart by 33 weeks but growth scan showed normal size baby. I ended up delivering at 34 weeks to a 5lb baby, I really don't think it's very accurate. I wouldn't worry if it's only slightly over, and different midwives might take slightly differing measurements too.

Fundal height is about the size of the baby. The rule of thumb is that if you're measuring ahead your baby is bigger than average for their gestation and if measuring behind the baby Imis small for gestational age. It's a rough measure used to check babies growth and point out any problems that would need further investigation like an ultrasound. Not all babies are the same size so measuring a week or two different either way isn't ususlly an issue.

Many things can affect fundal height, the position of the baby at the time the measurement is taken or even the accuracy of the person taking the measurement. It's my understanding it's not enormously reliable and if you feel you are eating healthily and don't have any other concerns about your size, don't worry about it.

Fundal height is just a tough guide they use to highlight any babies that are huge or too small. It's really not accurate, I'm measuring 3 weeks ahead again in my second pregnancy as I'm petite so I just carry babies sticking out the front so like last time I've had to have a growth scan and baby is on the 50th percentile. How you carry your baby or their position inthink are the main things that affect fundal height. Plus remember your graph is simply a computer generate guide based on your height and weight at the start of your pregnancy, they doesn't take into account how your baby carries a baby Smile

My fundal measurements are 3 weeks ahead, so I went for a growth scan and the baby was measured as 3 weeks ahead with excess amniotic fluid. I was tested for gestational diabetes but got the all clear and I was a size 8 before I got pregnant and haven't gained much weight. My baby is just on the taller side I guess...
