Just wondering if tall pregnant women found that they managed to escape the feeling of being unable to take a deep breath in pregnancy? Thanks!

I'm not super tall but around 5'9/5'10 and sorry to say it's still been pretty uncomfortable! 32 weeks now and hugely looking forward to her dropping down so I can finally take a big deep breath!

Sadly I don't think my height's given me any extra lung space! Wink

I'm 5'10 but proportionally have a long torso and at 38+6 I'm still finding I can breath normally. Sadly haven't escaped the acid reflux from my stomach being squished up though.

Thanks ladies! I’m 31 weeks and out of puff with walking up stairs/hills, but can still take deep breaths. Really hoping it continues and I carry low...

Anyone else care to share please?

I'm 5'8", and although I easily get out of breath on hills/stairs and don't have the same lung capacity, I don't remember ever feeling like I couldn't take a deep breath (this is my 4th pregnancy). Not even when full term. I should also mention that I have HUGE bumps.... People comment on them. A combination of big babies and a lot of amniotic fluid!

Ajahd · 17/09/2020 19:51

I've never quite understood the deep breath thing! I'm 5 ft 3, asthmatic and overweight, yet my breathing is the same as it has always been. Due on Monday so I don't see that changing all too much! Or maybe my lungs are just so used to being crap!

DramaAlpaca · 17/09/2020 19:58

It's a long time since I was pregnant, but at 5'10 I don't remember having any issues with breathing deeply. I never got heartburn either.

Halfpastafreckle · 17/09/2020 20:02

6’1 - didn’t have any issues breathing but had desperate indigestion both pregnancy’s - could have had shares in gaviscon

RestorationInsanity · 17/09/2020 20:10

Am 29 weeks, have definitely felt more breathless when exerting myself but not otherwise breathless and can still take long slow deep breaths comfortably. Indigestion has kicked in this week, and getting full quicker, so perhaps by the end my lungs might end up a bit squashed?

Gardenermumtobe · 17/09/2020 20:23

I'm 5'11" and 34 weeks, I have a long torso but a very small bump so starting to feel baby's bum pushing up on my ribs. I get out of breath walking up hills and stairs and bending over to do up my shoes but fine apart from that

bunnyonthemantle · 17/09/2020 20:26

I'm nearly 30 weeks. Breathing is fine. Acid reflux is not

Timekeepspassing · 17/09/2020 20:29

I don’t remember feeling particularly breathless but the acid reflux was awful. I used to sleep sitting up it was so bad.

wishing3 · 17/09/2020 20:50

Thanks-good to hear how it’s been for others.

I'm 29 weeks and 5ft 10, breathing for me depends on the baby's position. Some days I can barely bend and have to stretch my body to breath, other days feel no restriction at all.

The other day I wasn't breathless as such but it felt tight, then felt the baby make a big a move under my ribs and suddenly could take a massive breath. Didn't realise how restricted it was until the baby moved!
