Hey everyone

Just got my bfp so far this year I've had 2 chemical pregnancies and a MMC that I found out about at 9 weeks.

I'm wondering whether I should try taking some baby aspirin this time to try and help but I've read lots of stuff and it seems the results are mixed

I was thinking of just having 75mg every other day but I'm not sure whether it's a good idea or not

Just wondered what everyone's else's opinions are?

Thanks

Hiya. I had two MMC at 8 weeks and then a successful pregnancy taking low dose aspirin. The doctor said it wouldn’t do any harm - one tablet a day. But you can always ring them to check if you’re worried. Am now 18 weeks with no. 2, taking aspirin again this time. Wish you the best of luck with your pregnancy.

@Niketan thank you so much for replying did you have to take them the whole time or just up to 12 weeks?

Took every day to 34 weeks when my midwife told me to stop. I also have a slightly elevated BMI and in my area they recommend you take it if your BMI is high.

I should add that I also took progesterone on prescription for the first 12 weeks with my first successful pregnancy and the current one so don’t know if it was the aspirin or the hormones or both!

I had the same happen 2 years ago. Mmc discovered at the 12 week scan, baby measured 9 weeks. I looked at all the research and anecdotal information I could find and decided I'd kick myself either way but at least if I tried it I'd know I'd done something. I'm now 16 weeks pregnant and have been taking asprin since around 8 weeks. I really should be taking it due to bmi and it being my first continuing pregnancy but the computer points tally has this as my fourth pregnancy so hasn't recommended asprin on those grounds. I decided I wanted to take it from before things went wrong but not too early to upset things either. I know other people have started taking asprin at ovulation or a positive test. It's personal choice on that front I think.

Hi there
I had two miscarriages in last 12 months. Read lots about baby aspirin and this time took 75mg a day from BFP at about 4 weeks. I am 15 weeks today and all was perfect at my 12 week scan 🥰i mentioned it at 9 week booking call with midwife and she said my choice as won't harm baby. I guess I'll never know but like the PP I'd have kicked myself for not trying! As it happens they doubled my dose to 150mg a day now (due to age, I'm 40 and they make you feel ancient 🙄)

The other thing I read is best to take it in evening so I take it along with my evening meal and vitamin at same time.

Good luck ☺️

Please don't self medicate.
If you are concerned talk to your GP or midwife.
Taking aspirin isn't "harmless" especially if you have never been tested for clotting disorders or anything like that!
That was my doctors answer when i said i should probably take it after a mc.

Thanks everyone

I'm having a call with my doctor today so I shall ask what they think as well
