FRER very slightly lighter than yesterday

Can anyone reassure me that this is normal? I've had good progression but today the test line is slightly lighter and the control line slightly darker than yesterday. Could it just be my FMU is more diluted as I had a drink of water in the night? I only had a couple of sips though.

Pics show 14DPO, 17DPO and today 18DPO.

They look identical to me, put the tests down! You’re going to cause yourself massive amounts of anxiety, testing and scrutinising the tests every day! Congratulations☺️

bloomety · 16/09/2020 09:59

You're right @thetangleteaser I'm so stressed. I've tested every day since 10 DPO and taking cheapies as well randomly through the day.

They look the same to me too!

mouldygrapes · 16/09/2020 11:05

It’s so hard not to test isn’t it. But I agree, they look the same and it takes 48hrs for hcg levels to double.
Your tests look exactly like mine from 14 and 17 dpo.
I’ve had to step away from the tests as we’re on holiday now and I didn’t bring any ICs or FRERs.
I have one CB digital with the weeks indicator that I’m saving for next week then that has to be it! I think it’s not worth stressing out over
Good luck x

Helenknowsbest · 16/09/2020 11:08

I agree, they look the exact same to me. Its so easy to fall into repeat testing (guilty of it!) Ditch the tests, you're pregnant and massive congratulations your way! X

RedPandaFluff · 16/09/2020 11:17

Step away from the tests! Speaking as an ex-POAS addict . . .

I've been exactly where you are - see the way the bottom test (7 days after an IVF embryo transfer) is slightly lighter than the one before it? I was devastated, thought it was going to be another chemical pregnancy, agonised over it for the next 24 hours . . . 9-month-old DD is currently napping Grin

I think it's because the dye amounts vary from test to test. These ones don't test how pregnant you are, just whether you are or not.

Congratulations!

Thank everybody. It's reassuring to know you guys had the same.

@RedPandaFluff thank you for posting yours. Yes I think I'd have had a fit too if my lines got fainter like that! Great to know all was well in the end!

Oh well done @mouldygrapes not bringing them with you. How many DPO are you? I got a 2-3 weeks on Monday. I'm going to test next Monday and hopefully see 3+

mouldygrapes · 16/09/2020 15:01

Not gonna lie, it wasn’t easy to leave them behind!
I’m 20dpo, or 4+2 by LMP.

I think that’s a good plan. One final clear blue next week then stop! It is hard to break the addiction though. I’ve found it so helpful having people to chat to on here, if you have a wobble we’ll all support you

bloomety · 16/09/2020 15:28

@mouldygrapes I bet it wasn't. I found it easier since I promised DH as now I can't test as I'll break my promise.

Ooh you're similar to me. I'm 18DPO or 4+4 by LMP.

I know I find it good being able to chat on here. I've not told any of my friends or family as I've had two losses and don't want them to worry about me or ask every day how I am. I'm just picturing my Mums fave when I show her my 12 week scan picture and that makes the secrecy worthwhile when I feel I'm bursting with excitement!

OP posts:
mouldygrapes · 16/09/2020 15:45

I’m sure it must be really nerve wracking if you’ve had previous losses. Keeping everything crossed for you that all goes well this time. Are you planning an early scan? I’m going to book one at 7-8 weeks I think

bloomety · 16/09/2020 15:56

Thank you @mouldygrapes yes I've to ring the EPU up next week to get a 6 week scan eek!!

Is this your first?

OP posts:
mouldygrapes · 16/09/2020 16:18

Yes, first pregnancy so no idea what to expect.
I’ve also not told anyone except DP, and won’t until we’re a bit further along. I know they’ll be so excited too. I’m meant to be a bridesmaid for my sister next Sept so this kind of throws a spanner in the works

bloomety · 16/09/2020 16:42

Ooh that's exciting for you then. I have a son already, he's 2.

Well you'll have the baby by then so you'll be fine Smile.

Dear OP,

Please stop testing. You are pregnant and would be great if you start celebrating it. I did the same mistake as you and kept on testing for the first month. I drove myself mad and was sure I was miscarrying when the line went fainter. I even went for an early scan around 5 weeks and was asked to wait for two weeks to confirm the pregnancy as it was too early for them to see the heartbeat. I spent the first 1.5 months in fear and anxiety. I don't want anyone else to feel that. I found out about the Hook Effect later on. I am 25 weeks now and am very grateful to be at this stage. Be happy and enjoy the pregnancy. Trust me, time flies! I am so happy for you!!

bloomety · 16/09/2020 16:56

Thanks @MnM156 you are so right however it's hard when I've lost 2 already. I'm seeking reassurance from the tests that everything is going ok. I'm doing just two more. My last FRER on Saturday and then the clearblue weeks on Monday. No more after then!

It's to to hear that your line got fainter and you're now 25 weeks though. Congratulations!!

RoseGoldEagle · 17/09/2020 08:38

Ahh OP I’ve done exactly the same as you with all three pregnancies. With my third the line went much paler after 24 hours (at about 13dpo when it had been stronger at 12), and I was convinced it was a chemical- but it was dark again the next day (am currently 37 weeks pregnant). Your lines look completely fine to me, genuinely, and I’m the worst one for noticing any issues- no test is identical but basically they look the same, and are a really good dark colour. There are so many variables that can make a one off test slightly different anyway- but yours are perfect.

Hatscats · 17/09/2020 12:53

Look the same to me too.

That’s a strong positive so time to stop testing. You are pregnant, for me I took 2 tests over 2 days, and that was it. I just had a what will be will be attitude, nothing you can do will change the outcome, today you are pregnant so enjoy it. Good luck!

bloomety · 17/09/2020 14:36

@Hatscats yes you're right I need to enjoy it and stop stressing. It's actually been pretty relaxing not testing today. Just having a wee and not thinking I should capture it and stick a test in it!

Than you @RoseGoldEagle It's good to hear you think it looks the same too and that you've been where I have and it's all turned out fine for you. I'm not testing til Saturday and it's kind of relaxing not doing so. As soon as I made that decision I realised I was finally actually enjoying my pregnancy!
