Looking for advice from any midwives in Scotland please?

Hi. I am looking for some advice on whether or not midwives are allowed to refuse you a copy of your medical notes please? I had a growth scan afew days ago. I forgot my notes and I requested a copy of the growth chart to take home to show my partner as he wasn't at the appointment with me. The midwives were very reluctant and refused to give me a copy. I am really upset about this and find it bizarre. Are they allowed to refuse you a copy of your notes? Tia xx

@f@luisa778 under data protection they cannot refuse to provide you with your own medical notes. They're allowed to charge for a print (although weird if they did!) but they can't deny you.

Thanks alot for your reply, I am so angry about it and I can't understand why they were so awkward about it. At the scan my baby was measuring small and I was concerned, I really just wanted a copy of the little chart where they plot baby's growth to look over in my own time at home but they just made excuses. First one of the midwifes said that they were funny about copying any medical notes, then one said they would see if they could get a copy and then they just started ignoring my request. Do you have any idea why they don't like to give you a copy of your notes? I find it so strange xx

When I was pg you got your notes to carry around with you. Has that changed then?

If you dont get anywhere then speak to your GP and ask them to request it on your behalf?
I imagine their reluctance is local, not global. As I've been given a copy of everything. And as it's about 'me' I'm damn well having it!
Just keep being pushy.

Lonnyvonny I had my own notes at home, I forgot to take them with me and since my baby was measuring small on this scan I was asked to stay behind so a doctor could speak to me about it etc. I was concerned and although they said that next time I had an appointment and brought my notes in they would fill everything in, I had just wanted a copy to read that night at that home.
