Ive been for a scan at the EPAC this morning due to having some spotting, they found two babies and i got to see two little heartbeats ! Now im only 6/7 weeks and im in shock i know nothing about twins, i have three grown up children - any advice would be great to help my shock! 😄also the sonographer told me that they appear to be sharing a yolk sac she said ill learn more at my 12 week scan which seems a million years away? Can anyone advise me what that could mean maybe? Thanks in advance x

Congrats! I have identical twins and let me tell you it’s one hell of a ride. Totally different to having a singleton. The pregnancy is bloody hard esp towards the end but if you have no young kids you should be able to rest and be ok. Take care of yourself, eat lots as you will get MEGA hungry, also the shortness of breath in the third trimester is crazy.
Having two babies is certainly interesting but I managed with a 2 year old, supportive DH and a bit of help here and there from friends and family. The twins now are still in primary school and let me tell you, they have a bond like no other. They know each other better than I know them which is really strange.
It’s amazing, exhausting, frustrating and endless love all at once!

Congratulations! I had identical twin boys, knew absolutely nothing about twins at all and didn't know it was possible without twins being in the family. I cried and was in shock when we were told at the 12w scan.

Lots of monitoring and scans ahead!

Once you find out they seem to pop up everywhere around you 😄

All the best x
