Midwife appointments - delays?

Hi all,

I just wondered how long people have waited for their first booking appointment or midwife appointment?
I know there may be delays at the mo but I "registered" as being pregnant 2 weeks ago with my hospital and haven't heard anything back yet apart form a generic email with some info on.
I'm 8 weeks 4 days.
When I was pregnant last year (sadly didn't end well) I was seen at about 6 weeks and had blood tests every week for 3 weeks.(I had high ferritin levels)
I'm West Sussex by the way and East Surrey will be my hospital. Thanks all

my booking appointment was at 10 weeks, got a letter for it around 8 weeks I think but I'm in a different area.

The midwife is ringing me Thursday and I’ll be 7 weeks 3 days. She did say this was early though because she was booked up for the next couple of weeks. I’m quite glad it’s early though!

I notified my midwife service last week and got a message today that I will have a phone all in 4 weeks time when I'm 10 weeks South West here!

I had a phone call appointment at just past 9 weeks (Hampshire). My 31 week appointment is booked a week late at 32 weeks, I know it's only a week but I do feel like I will have a long list of questions and concerns by the time I get to that appointment, currently 30 weeks so 2 weeks since my last appointment at 28 weeks and my anxiety has majorly risen!

Give them a ring or drop them an email to check. The web form goes through to a centralised system (that generates the email) and then referrals are sent out to the relevant teams. The team in question might not have received your referral for one reason or another so it’s worth checking! Usually you get an appointment letter for the booking and your scan in the post.

For my first I was see at 7 weeks to register and then booking at about 10 weeks. Had bloods done then.
With this one because of covid I did the online register, and then my phone call booking appointment was at 8 weeks. I got a letter quite quickly with this appointment on. Didn’t have bloods done until the 12 week scan to reduce visits.
I’m also in West Sussex with east Surrey as my hospital. I’d call your hospital to chase up.

I’m with Kingston hospital and no delays for me . I self referred around 6-7 weeks and got my booking appointment within days. Booking appointment was at 8 weeks and In person . This was back in April at the peak of the pandemic. I’m 31 weeks now and so far all my appointments have been fine , no issues at all . This is my second pregnancy and the only difference is my husband can’t attend the appointments.

I saw my midwife at the start of the pandemic and I was about 9 weeks.
