18 weeks pregnant and hair falling out?!

Hi all!

Currently 18 weeks pregnant and thought my hair would stop falling out by now!

I'm not under stress or shock so I'm a bit confused if this is normal for some women?

My hair has always fell out and is very thin.

When do people get these thick luscious locks everyone talks about?

Thanks all Smile

@funnyrubberducky I cant remember when it started but mine came out more than usual in the first half of pregnancy. I would brush my hair and it would be everywhere! Thankfully it stopped 🙂

@funnyrubberducky I'm 18 weeks and my hair has been falling out for a few weeks now. It's all over the house!!!!
Very common but so annoying!

Pregnancy was the only thing that stopped mine falling out 😩 unfortunately it isn't sustainable for me to keep having kids 😂

Mine was ok during the first and most of the second trimester but I'm 29 weeks now and losing loads. Anemia and low Vitmain D can both cause hair loss, I'm waiting for my 28 week bloods to come back in regards to the low iron, but may start taking additional Vitamin D on top of my usual pregnancy multivitamin as I'm not getting out much and my ethnicity is one that often lacks Vitamin D.

Hi OP.
Mine was shedding loads until my GP doubled my dose of iron tablets. The bloods done by the midwife were always normal but my GP said those bloods don't measure iron levels, but rather haemoglobin. Turns out although my haemoglobin levels were normal, my iron levels were not sufficient to promote hair growth.
