Hey I'm 22 weeks and my friends baby is 6months but very chunky is it okay to carry them ? I know a lot of people might say people have babies and pregnant at the same time but as a first time mum I'm a bit worried about a lot of stuff and had a miscarriage before this pregnancy

I can't see why you'd even think it was a problem, to be honest. Your baby is pretty well embedded and takes an awful lot to cause any harm. Lifting ordinary things like furniture might be uncomfortable but isn't harmful.

Yes I have an 18 month old who I have to carry and have climb all over me all day long, I've also had miscarriages, it wouldn't stop me carrying my toddler, plus you're a good way through already, you probably lift heavier than a 6 month old by doing washing 🤷‍♀️

Yep, a 6 month old is pretty light. I struggle if I need to pick up my nearly 4 year old (currently 28 weeks with twins, about the size that I was full term with my singleton) so avoid that as much as possible, but it doesn’t do any harm if I really need to. A 6 month old is very light indeed.

I’m 32 weeks. I have a 2 year old who still needs manhandling frequently. And I lift weights heavier than him in the gym.

I'm 21 weeks and occasionally end up carrying my 13 month old (10kgs) and my 4 year old (19kgs) at the same time. Just have to make sure I lift with my knees not my back 😆😆 they are always climbing on me too, not had any problems from it though xx

I've got a huge 2yo, can still carry her for short distances if needed! It's fine.

Im 30 weeks pregnant and have a 14 kilo toddler . He’s pretty independent but there are days he just needs to be held . I cooked dinner last with him in my arms . My poor, poor back 😩

A 6 month old is perfectly fine to hold ☺️

Mother2princess · 11/09/2020 15:02

Yes that’s perfectly fine

I have toddlers that I always pick up during pregnancy

I'm 29 weeks and still pick up my 4yo sometimes.
