Hey ladies I'm having symptoms of BV so decided to get balance activ gel in the pharmacy they weren't really sure about using it during pregnancy however I did call my midwife and she said it's safe I should just use it for 7days as it recommends and use it at night she also said if I don't have BV it's okay if I used it as there's nothing wrong with restoring your PH balance . however I want to know what you other mums to be opinion on it or if you've used it before thank you

Especially Bec it has to be put in the vagina I don't want to cause irritation to my cervix or anything

I've used it before - it's very mild, didn't experience irritation from using it. It says very clearly on their site that it's safe during pregnancy too. For me it was the only thing that made my BV go away and stay away, having tried using only antibiotics before - metronidazole made me feel very sick and I tried two courses of it before I was also given some balance activ by a doctor and and then the BV hasn't come back since.

Just realised you're the same poster I replied to on your other thread Grin thought it was a strange coincidence. Anyway good luck with it

Yes, it’s safe, I think it even says so on the packaging/leaflet. I used it in my last pregnancy as I didn’t want to take antibiotics.

I used it during this pregnancy, however the BV wouldn't shift without antibiotics in the end!
