Sertraline (Zoloft) in pregnancy

Has anyone been on sertraline (or I think it sometimes goes by the brand name Zoloft) whilst pregnant? I have severe health anxiety for little one and some mild signs of depression (crying all of the time, tired, etc).

I was prescribed sertraline at 16 weeks but made the decision to try and go without it as the risks terrified me. Have been speaking to a counsellor and managing okay. Bad days here and there.

Am now almost 28 weeks and have had a major relapse. Feel like I'm struggling to cope but have so much guilt around needing to take this medication. Has anyone had any experience of sertraline in pregnancy or any after effects on baby when they were born? Am worried about introducing it in the third trimester.

Hey! I take sertraline and currently pregnant, my sister also took sertraline throughout her entire pregnancy and absolutely fine! The doctor says it’s the main anti anxiety/antidepressant medication used in pregnancy, the risks are very low and if the benefits of taking it outweigh the negatives then it’s 100% worth being on them to keep you calm and stress free, it’s not nice for you and baby to be ultra stressed and depressed during pregnancy so please take care of yourself and if that means you need some extra help with the medication then I’m sure you’ll feel a lot better being on them 💜
I hope you’re ok, I know how awful it is to struggle with mental health xx
