Did you wait until 12 weeks or did you tell them before?

Within a couple of days of funding out.

13 weeks.
They had no idea we were TTC and as we were in 40’s we didn’t want to get their hopes up

I told them right away the first time. I'm pregnant again now (just 5 weeks) and I'm not going to tell them. My mil would be ok but my mum is v anxious about Covid and i don't want to add to her angst until we know it's ok.

Thanks everyone! Love to read the different views on this.

I really want to tell my mother, she's overseas but I know that if I did lose the baby, she'd be the one I'd turn to. I FaceTimed her today and all I wanted was to tell her even though she was against it at first, thinking I should have a bigger age gap. She knows we're TTC but I told her AF came as I genuinely believe it did but it was just spotting - period never came. Anyway, my dad was at work, and if I tell them, I would want both of them to hear the news at the same time. Just thinking of how to announce it. I'm 4+1.

Re my in-laws. I would tell MIL but FIL would then pressure us to tell all of DHs siblings and their respective partners, so I'd rather wait. & I don't want MIL having to keep such a secret from her husband. They are lovely people, don't get me wrong.

I told my mum at 7 weeks purely because I had HG which started at 6 weeks and I usually saw her/my dad/siblings about once a week. So I couldn't have hidden it. She told my siblings and DF (with our permission). We didn't tell anyone else until after the 12 week scan and the screening test results were back by which time I was about 14 weeks I think.

14 weeks because my Mum is a massive gossip and I knew it would be all over town 20 minutes after I told her. Honestly, I wanted to wait longer but DH wanted to tell his family so I gave in.

12 weeks. It was ages ago, though. You can find out you're pregnant very early nowadays, so I thought you'd be telling your parents sooner.

Both sides 26 weeks!!! As we had trouble early on with bleeding.

Few days after a positive test both times. But I am close to them and would have told them about any miscarriage/wanted their support.
