How many weeks pregnant were you when you started on the nursery? 😊

My advice to people who are expecting a baby is to paint your whole house, not just the nursery, before baby gets here! DH and I now kick ourselves so much for not getting more done before we have DS - we ended up selling the house when he was 18 months and having to redecorate a lot then, and it would have been SO MUCH easier if we'd have done it before we had him! We're now desperately trying to decorate our new house before DC2 arrives in Feb because we know that, pain as it is to decorate with a toddler and while I'm pregnant, we will regret anything that we leave until we have two of them to deal with...

@Superscientist - yes, ours has gone from a room where we “stored” all our junk to one which is useable, stores things like nappies and has a sofa bed in it for feeding/guests. Calling it a nursery might be a bit grand! However, it was horrible enough to do without worrying about a child - I know myself well enough to know I’d have very little motivation to do it once baby was actually here and it became a necessity...

Agree with others, especially the pp who said it can be like having a shrine to what you thought it would be like with a baby 🤣

We had a room/dumping ground for DS but I didn’t decorate it until he moved in when he was 1. I’m pregnant again and plan on them sharing eventually, but baby will be in with us at first.

Thanks everyone 😊 I'm 20 weeks and think we're going to start now whilst I feel I have enough energy to do it 😊

Lol, we assembled the IKEA cot when I was 36 weeks pregnant. (0/10 do not recommend) That was the only bit of furniture/decor we bought and it lived in our room for six and a half months

Baby was 6 months old before we decorated the spare room.
