Does anyone know what the latest guidance is for pregnant ladies please? In regards to 3rd Trimester and returning to work/'shielding'?

Basically I have been wfh since March (can do my full usual role from home no issues), but our office are now trying to phase us back 1 day a week from the end of September onwards. I will be 28 weeks from the start of October and I'm trying to work out where I stand in terms of returning, but finding the info very vague (especially now that shielding has ended).

Ideally I will continue to wfh doing my full role until I go on maternity leave, but not sure if that is an unreasonable request? My commute is 1 hour into central London by train which is my biggest concern! No alternatives to get into my office apart from 1 train line either. Taxi would cost over £100 each way!

Thanks in advance :)

I'm 36 weeks and have been back at work since June. I work at home 3 days and in the office 2 days. However I am within walking distance of my office and I also drive my own car.
If I was in your position in respect of the commute I'd be inclined to continue wfh as I would avoid public transport at all costs being pregnant. In my own opinion it's too risky. The proximity of people, touching things etc.
I'd have a chat with you're employer and express your concern. They need to ensure the appropriate safeguarding is in place for you, but at the same time also need to understand your concern of actually getting to work.
Hope you sort it out

Thanks @lockdownpregnancy hope being back has been ok!

That's the thing for me - I wouldn't mind actually being in the office (in fact I'd quite like it to see people!) it's the commute I'm most concerned about, and also the wearing a mask for an hour on the train whilst heavily pregnant! (Which I will of course do if I do go back in line with regulations).

Have just started the conversation with my manager so fingers crossed they're understanding! If I couldn't do my job from home I'd understand needing to be back, but it hasn't affected the work at all!
