Morning everyone!
I love reading people’s labour stories so I thought I’d start this and others might enjoy reading my story.
My question is does anyone have any top tips that they feel helped them progress in early labour?
I have previously posted re my pregnancy journey suffered HG, 2 failed sweeps and booked for induction next week as my cervix looked very unfavourable! But my waters broke last night woohoo, I have been really painful and achy over night. But I don’t think I’m having contractions, just constant pain. Help me bring on the contractions!!!
I have been out a walk, luckily we stay on a farm so no one seen me cruising around in my pjs, I have been cleaning the kitchen and bouncing on my ball... anymore tips...? Thanks

@Jomum2020 woohoo! My best tip would be to rest, you will need all you energy later on. I’ve heard a lot of people say they regretted going for long walk, cleaning etc as they were knackered for labour. Read a good book, have something nice to eat, they will start Smile

@Jomum2020 good luck, how exciting! You’ll probably meet your baby today Grin

I’m still waiting...getting all the signs and symptoms, just no baby! I’m sure it won’t be too much longer (I lost my mucus plug and had a ‘show’ a week ago!!). I’ll be thinking of you today x

How exciting, I really recommend you get some nice snacks and watch some films/TV shows you love. Keep the curtains closed, make it nice and cosy xx

I agree with the others try to relax if you can. I ended up being in labour for 3 days and was totally exhausted by the end of it, I wish the first day I hadn't been scrubbing the house and going for long walks & had tried to save my energy.

Good luck, I hope it's not too long until you are enjoying cuddles with your new baby Smile

So was Labour day / baby day ?

Jomum2020 · 04/09/2020 14:26

Sorry for the delay. Baby Lottie is here-hooray!!
She was born the following day, on the 29th I had contractions on and off which became more intense by around 9pm, we headed into hospital to be told I was only 1cm and totally unfavourable by a grumpy looking midwife. I was sent away with painkillers and felt really deflated (again). I couldn’t understand how I hadn’t progressed at all...!
Anyway fast forward to the next morning I had to be checked as it was 36 hours from waters breaking, I was 3cm. At this point I was still only 4/5 engaged and baby was back to back. I started to doubt my vbac would happen but I hope if anyone searches this in the future it gives you hope. My body and baby knew what to do! Baby spun round into the right position as she became fully engaged. Contractions started thick and strong at around 1pm and she was out by 7pm!
Thanks for your support everyone x
