I know when you estimate your due date or how far along you are (if you don’t know what you ovulated or conceived), you do it by the first day of your last period. This is also how the midwives ask you up until you have your 12 week scan..

Going by that, I’d be 7 weeks today and I had a 30/31 day cycle. I’m so worried that when I go for my early scan on Saturday I’m actually going to be something like 5 weeks and have got it all wrong and be further behind when the midwife books me in for the dating scan.

It’s so confusing, I don’t know actually how many weeks I am because of not knowing when ovulation was..

Knowing the date that your last period started is all you need for now, it doesn't matter if you know/don't know when you ovulated. Even if you do, standard practice is to date by your cycle and then amend dates, if needed, at the 12 week scan.

The early weeks can feel like such a long time, do try to just relax and take things as they come.

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

@modge
I do keep telling myself that but I’m just especially worried that we will have paid a lot of money for this early scan and if I’m not as far along as I think I am, that we won’t be able to see anything at all.
My OH told me last night that he’s also really nervous about Saturday and hopes everything is okay after having a miscarriage in June.

As much as I’m trying to stay calm and taking it day by day, I can’t help but worry x

This happened to us, we were 5 weeks 6 days due to a long cycle.

They could see the sac in the right place and could even tell which side I ovulated from!

It was still very reassuring 🥰

If your are earlier and with a 30/31 day cycle probably will only be a few days to a week earlier as long as they can see the sac they may offer to re-scab a week later or so, I know people who went and were 5 weeks and couldn't see the baby and all was fine, my cycles were coming out about 30/31 days and when I went the the scan I booked it for approx when due to my period I would've been 7+3 but when they scanned I was 6+4 and could see the baby (although it looked like a little bean)
