Hi, sorry for the pictures but I really wanted to know if anyone else has had this. I'm 13 weeks pregnant and had a really big bleed scare a couple of weeks ago but had my 12 week scan last week which shockingly showed a healthy dancing baby.

Today I've had cramping all day mostly in my back and lower abdomen similar to moderate period pains then after a visit to the loo I wiped and there was a sticky, stringy, mucousy blob. The period like pains have continued to the point that I had to take something. Should I be concerned?

Hi, you should probably call your midwife/EPU and let them know about the cramping and how strong it’s been - it can be a sign of a UTI which need for be treated quite quickly in pregnancy - just will need some antibiotics that’s all.
I’m currently 33 weeks but at 13 weeks I had cramping and tightenings - GP did a urine sample and it was a UTI that was the cause.
I’m not sure about the discharge but I don’t think it looks too concerning.

I've had it throughout my pregnancy and all is fine (35+w). I always know if I feel some cramping I'll go to the loo and wipe away a big string of discharge. If you get any stinging when going to the loo, aches or pains around kidneys best to get it checked out x
