Hi all!

I'm currently 15 weeks pregnant and was diagnosed with vaginal thrush a couple days ago.

Since then, I've had a sore throat, red raw it's like swallowing glass!

Doc has given me nystan for the oral thrush is this safe to use? Has anybody else used this?

Thanks so much! I'm freaking out lol Wink

Hi, I’m 30 weeks and have had oral thrush on and off my whole pregnancy. Similar to you where it affects my throat. My Doctor insists Nystan is safe. I’m pretty sure I have it again so am gargling salt water like a crazy woman!

yep. Recent finished nystatin for oral thrush. It didnt get rid of it completely but I also bought a pregnancy safe mouthwash (i didnt know some mouthwashes wernt safe!) thats helping too!

@Babba2801 are you taking corsodyl? I heard that's safe and effective for oral thrush. I'm glad I'm not alone in all this Sad how far along are you?

@Sls668 that sucks you've had it more than once. I was so worried that it was harmful to baby

@rebeccajdaniels a pharmacist told me not to take corsodyl as the chlorhexadine isnt proven to be safe or not. I was advised to find one thats alcohol free, chlorhexadine free but still states that it kills bacteria. Was quite hard to find but managed to find a colgate one!

Yeah its rough isnt it. I had thrush for months and didnt realise, i just thought the food adversions and awful taste in my mouth was just hormones but once it started to clear the change was amazing! I hope it clears for you soon!

Im 17+6 currently Smile x

@Babba2801 I thought corsodyl wouldn't be safe either until I googled it and it said it was fine, doesn't stop me worrying though haha! Grin

All the luck in your pregnancy! I'm currently 15+2 and finding out the gender on Tuesday! Grin

Can I ask what the Colgate one is called? Might have to pick that up for me and the bub haha

Oh man, get it treated and keep an eye on it incase it comes back.

I had it, and then the baby got it and so my tits got it from breastfeeding.

Thrush in the tits is not pleasant (understatement)
