Early engagement, earlier labour?

I've just had my 34 week appt and was told that baby is in the perfect position for birth and his head is already 2/5ths engaged. I had suspected as much, as a few days ago pressure in my bump shifted hugely from the top to the bottom, and I'm now feeling lots of pressure on my cervix and much less pressure on my lungs and stomach. A quick Google has given me very mixed results about whether this has any impact on when the baby will be born. Has anyone here had early head engagement and when was your baby born in relation to their due date?

My DD was pretty much fully engaged at 32 weeks, she arrived at 40+5, think it's quite common for first babies to engage early

It's varied I've spoken to mums that were engaged at 34-36 weeks and they went overdue.
I wasn't engaged at 38 weeks but had her at 38+6

It makes no difference at all. There's no connection. First babies in particular engage early and stay there.

First was fully engaged at 31 weeks and never mover. Born 8 weeks later. Second never engaged and labour started with his head still free. Both anecdotes I know and this does not equal data but there's no correlation between early engagement and labour onset really.

Mine was engaged for weeks. Five days early. I felt as if I were walking around with a melon between my legs. Labour was two hours as I was 5cm without any contractions. His head was very squashed. Not a pretty sight. Took a few days to get a normal head shape.

I was 3/5 engaged at 32 weeks and gave birth at 41+1
