Urgent help - Woke up with almost no bump

Hi everyone,

I am a FTM and 21+3 days today. I had a proper hard bump till last night and today I have woken up with almost no bump. I was feeling the baby move last night before I slept but now I have literally no bump. I have an anterior placenta.

Is it something to worry about? Is this normal?

I wouldn't worry about it too much- babies are pretty resilient things and them moving about can make a difference to the profile of your bump, especially when there's more room for them at this size. However, I would call your midwifery team to discuss and have your mind put at rest.

Thanks for your reply. I have sent a msg to the midwife. Waiting for her reply.

I didn't have a bump my whole pregnancy, because DS was basically vertical the entire time.

I know it doesn't help your anxiety but it's surprising how much room there is for baby's to manoeuvre.

Hope the midwife gets back in touch soon.

Hi OP. My baby did a disappearing act towards the end of my second trimester (impossible I know but he literally just went 😂)
Turns out he went from being at the front of me, to hiding himself right into my back which reduced my bump dramatically!
I went to the MAU as I was worried as movements reduced because he was hiding the little tinker! He soon popped back to the front when they had a poke about my belly 👍🏻

The midwife will hopefully be in touch to have a chat and you will know next steps etc

I'm no expert but if baby moves so baby is in line with your spine then the bump will be much smaller so possibly baby has decided to stand today? It doesn't matter anyway as the midwife will be in touch with real advice soon hopefully!
