My youngest two are slightly more than a year apart and I'll be honest it's been tough! First off, it's dealing with the lack of nighttime sleep with a newborn plus another baby. Also I think it all comes down to the older child's personality. My older one is very energetic and demands a lot of attention in the way of watching he's not destroying things or getting up to mischief while I'm seeing to the baby. Luckily he still has a couple of hours afternoon nap but his awake times are physically draining!
I would say just be as prepared and organised as you can. You will find a routine quick enough and everything else will fall into place. There will be stressful days but many good days too! On the tough days I always remind myself "this too shall pass"! They aren't babies for long and it's lovely to have a close age gap as they grow up.
