Hello! I'm hoping you lovely lot can help me 😇

My partner and I have decided to begin TTC for our first baby.
I had my Nexplanon implant taken out on 4th August and have had fairly regular unprotected sex since then, first day being the Friday 7th August.
Since then, I have had intense nausea, to the point where I've had to leave meals / social gatherings early because I feel overwhelmingly sick..
I've also been having headaches, stomach cramping as though my monthlies are coming in but nothing has happened so far.
I should add, I've had 2 implants in total for 6
years, however the implant I recently had removed actually expired in April this year; if that helps with anything 🙈😆

I know it's extremely early, and the fact I've had no period yet I know it's probably not likely, but I do know that many women come off of the implant and then ovulate soon after without having had a period.

I'm just wondering if anyone's experienced the same; or if my 'symptoms' sound familiar / pregnancy related or if it's just my hormones returning to normal.. my entire family are extremely fertile and have all fallen pregnant in the first month of trying, if that means anything Hmm

Thank you 💕

Just do a test and then you’ll know...

Hey! Thank you Smile I should add, I've taken a test this evening and it's a clear negative.. not even a faint line there at all sadly 😓 could it still be too early maybe? Not been 2 weeks since the first day of unprotected sex yet. X

Didn’t you post about this yesterday? The nurse advised you wait a few weeks and take a test, you won’t know until you take a test, could be that you’re pregnant but could just be that you’re hypersensitive to any symptoms that could be due pregnancy or just could be your body readjusting to the implant coming out. Only a test will give you an answer, you’ll only end up disappointed if you convince yourself you’re pregnant based off replies on Mumsnet

I thought so, I thought I was having really weird deja vu! Give it another week and test again, good luck, in the mean time try and switch off if you can or you’ll drive yourself mad!

Hey, I think if you are pregnant you may have tested too early. Give it another week, I know it’s hard Sad I’m currently trying too & every period that comes Is disappointing. If you did get pregnant on the 7th of August, you’d be under 4 weeks. Have you got an app you can track your periods on?

ttc97 · 18/08/2020 20:56

Thank you, I will do! It's so strange being completely off any form of birth control, I feel weirdly in tune with my body and every feeling I'm feeling.. does that make any sense?! 😂🙊 I'm maybe completely over thinking this.. who knows. Thank you lovely x

Hi lovely, thank you. I think I may have tested too early too. It's so hard to know what to do when feeling like this! I just want to know if I'm pregnant or If I'm generally under the weather 😓 I haven't had my period yet since coming off the implant so not sure when it's due etc.. the nurse that took it out for me called me yesterday and said my period should come this week according to her calculations, and if it doesn't I should be testing for pregnancy next Friday. Who knows what's going on haha! Ummm very impatient right now 🙈🙊 got absolutely NO sign of my period coming whatsoever!!! X

Well I will keep everything crossed for you, I know how anxious the wait can be. Try to keep yourself busy, look after yourself. Are you taking folic acid? Or pregnancy vitamins?

Nausea is sometimes a symptom of coming off hormonal contraception. You could be pregnant but you're probably not. Most pregnancy induced nausea doesn't start until 6-8 weeks.
