Hi all! Smile

I'm 14 weeks pregnant and very impatient haha!

I was wondering if you lovely ladies could give me an idea of what the babies gender will be using the nub theory.

I've attached 2 scan photos, one from 9 weeks and one from 12.

Thank you all so much! I can't wait to see what you all come up with! Star

You can't see a baby's gender. You might be able to tell its sex though.

namedchange112 · 18/08/2020 17:48

You'll get pedantic comments about gender and sex on this one Hmm

It's not very clear but I'd guess at a boy.

Branleuse · 18/08/2020 17:57

Astralgender

HolyCorona · 18/08/2020 17:59

I'm going to guess pangender.

lemyn · 18/08/2020 18:24

I have a feeling it's a boy but can't really tell. Congratulations! Smile

Spied · 18/08/2020 18:25

I'm going for girl

Soontobe60 · 18/08/2020 18:29

When your baby is born, its SEX will be observed and recorded. It’s SEX may be observed via a scan earlier, or via genetic testing whilst in utero.
Regarding its gender, the baby will let you know when its old enough.

Twin-souled penguin?

CoalCraft · 18/08/2020 18:34

We all know what OP means guys, no need to be arsey about it. If you want to point out the difference between sex and gender it's possible to explain it in a friendly, non-sarky way. Being dickish will not help people to see things from your point of view.

I guess boy OP!

rebeccajdaniels · 18/08/2020 19:10

Thanks for all of your responses guys! Looks like it's mostly boy for those of you that actually commented a sensible answer!

This is my first baby and I've booked the baby in for a gender scan in September so, I just assumed it was to check the gender lol Grin

Every single time a happy, excited mum-to-be posts a scan pic and invites people to guess sex / gender, you can absolutely guarantee that a handful of sneery cows will instantly descend to make totally unnecessary and unhelpful comments about sex v gender, or some stupid fake guess that’s intended to be witty despite having been done to absolute death a thousand times before.

It would be lovely if people could realise that the pregnancy section is not the forum for them to push an agenda or pat themselves on the back for a tired witticism about being pangender, but that’s clearly too much to ask.

OP - I’m rubbish at these but my guess is boy. It will be exciting for you to find out in September!

iamtheoneandonlyyy · 18/08/2020 19:17

I reckon boy. Happy and healthy pregnancy Thanks

Grumpy19 · 18/08/2020 19:17

I guess girl.

AllTheWhoresOfMalta · 18/08/2020 19:19

Boy based on skull shape, but they’re not the clearest. Do update us when you know- I like finding out!

Somewhat ironic that the only way they can be a “happy, excited mum-to-be” is because of their biological sex though. The language is important. And I’d have thought pregnant mothers would be the ones defending it most strongly given the implications for them!

Also shocking research into the implications of knowing the sex during pregnancy. It’s the very start of girls being treated differently to boys which then reinforces societal expectations and places limits on both sexes later on.

And it clearly hasn’t been “done to death” if people keep getting it wrong!

RiteAid · 18/08/2020 19:23

@Feminist10101 take it to the FWR board. It is so obviously not the OP’s intention to have a bu fight about sex v gender here. Start your own thread if you have a point to make instead of hijacking someone else’s.

Feminist10101 · 18/08/2020 19:24

take it to the FWR board.

They already understand it there. 🤷🏻‍♀️

CoalCraft · 18/08/2020 19:36

There's nothing wrong with mentioning the difference between sex and gender to people in this board, it's the tone of it in this thread that's the issue. If people really wanted to spread awareness of this - yes, important - issue, they'd explain it in a positive or at least neutral way, or provide a link to information elsewhere. The mocking tone used here leaves people confused and annoyed rather than informed, and indicates that the people doing it are more interested in virtue signalling and making fun than educating.

Sorry for derailing OP xx

RiteAid · 18/08/2020 19:46

@Feminist10101 I’m not giving you the fight you want here. Be a decent person - don’t derail other people’s threads just because something is a pet subject of yours.

RoseGoldEagle · 18/08/2020 19:54

I’d say boy from shape of skull. Let us know OP!

ReturnofSaturn · 18/08/2020 20:48

Boy

Theresomethingaboutdairy · 18/08/2020 21:13

Ooh I guess boy too. Do come back and let us know please OP.

Theresomethingaboutdairy · 18/08/2020 21:16

I think the problem is that many private scan company's call them 'gender scans.'

SistemaAddict · 18/08/2020 21:57

Two-spirit gender. Or maybe three-spirit. It's difficult to tell.
Congratulations on your pregnancy Thanks

stairgates · 18/08/2020 23:38
