Baby on 91st percentile

Just had a scan at 34 weeks and baby is showing massive at 6lb 5 oz, I'm a FTM and terrified it's going to a massive baby. The mid wife didn't seem bothered has just booked me in for a scan at 38 weeks and said we will see!

I'm feeling really anxious - just wondering if anyone had similar and what happened?

Yep, had the same thing. Baby was measuring large from 34 weeks and I had 3 growth scans, at each scan they showed that baby was within normal weight range. At the last scan they said baby was looking to be at about 9-10lbs at 38+5 weeks, I was booked in for an induction the next day (also due to a lot of fluid). Baby was born a day and a half later at 8lb 5oz so they were off with their measurements.

My first son was born around 91st percentile - 8lb7oz. Now at 2 years old he is still on the same centile. The labour was long - he was back to back - but he was still born naturally without any intervention and having never given birth to a 'small' baby I didn't know any different. Try not to stress too much, as what will be will be. My second is due in a few weeks and is also predicted to be a similar size. Some babies are just naturally bigger. Best of luck!

Ah that makes me feel a bit better! Thanks for sharing! The mid wife didn't really say anything which I think has made me worry even more! Hopefully worst case I'll just get induced early
