I'm currently 14 weeks pregnant with my first baby. Went to the toilet and noticed there was a small yellow/green string of discharge however, all my other discharge is normal.

I don't have any symptoms of thrush etc, no itchiness or nothing.

Should I be worried?

Thanks so much!

I've had that on and off throughout both pregnancies, and never had an infection or any problems. I just seem to produce a lot of discharge, sometimes watery and sometimes stringy. I find if I have a stomach cramp, next time I go to the toilet and wipe it's there.

If theres a long time before your next me appt and you wanted to get it checked just in case, you can always ask to drop a urine sample off just for a quick test. But if theres no itching/pain/smell, it's likely just one of those things x

I have the same (am also 14weeks pregnant). Mentioned it to my midwife but as I have no other symptoms like itchiness or smell she said it was probably nothing to worry about and to just keep an eye on it incase it gets worse or other symptoms occur.

I've had this throughout too and as I have no other symptoms it doesn't seem to mean much. I had a bleeding scare yesterday and had an internal examination so Dr and nurse both for a good look at discharge and evoke they did comment that there was a lot of it (I've always been that way), they didn't suggest that the colour or anything indicated an infection.

I’ve had this since we found out I was pregnant I’m now 20 weeks. I’ve had 2 swabs, no infection! ‘Just one of those pregnancy things’

Thank you all so much! Discharge seems fine now thankfully! I've spoken to the doctor who's asked me to have some swabs for BV and thrush tomorrow. Wish me luck! Smile

How did you find out? I've had a similar stringy discharge and wondered if it was thrush but assumed thrush would be a lot more obvious as I had it in my last pregnancy.

chrissagcat · 25/08/2020 22:19

@rebeccajdaniels what did they give you for it?

rebeccajdaniels · 25/08/2020 22:23

To be honest I had no idea I had thrush, I only got tested because I'm ott otherwise I would never of known Shock

@CaramelB I called the GP and they did a vaginal swab which came back positive. I also bought a home testing swab for thrush and BV and it came back negative so I wouldn't waste money on those! Blush

@chrissagcat they gave me canestan cream with an overnight pessary

I have oral thrush now too Envy Angry

@rebeccajdaniels I'm glad you mentioned that because I was planning on getting that canesten bv and thrush test tomorrow. I will give my GP a call as I've also had really bad cramping today so I'm really worried

rebeccajdaniels · 25/08/2020 22:35

@CaramelB I hope all goes well for you! Please let me know how you get on Smile thankfully, I got my results within 2 days so you should too fingers crossed! I know cramping is very common as I've also had it throughout my pregnancy as well as round ligament pain Confused

@rebeccajdaniels the cramping has been horrible today to the point that walking was hard work. This is not my first pregnancy but I had my daughter 13 years ago and I didn't know i was pregnant till i was about 17 weeks. I barely remember much from the few weeks besides fatigue but I definitely remember the recurring thrush I got later on in the pregnancy. This time around I found out a week in and the last 13 weeks have dragged and had scary moments. Hopefully it's just the uterus growing, will let you know 🤞🏼.

@CaramelB oh I know!!! Tell me about it!! I've had all sorts in this pregnancy and it is my first baby haha! Oral and vaginal thrush, early bleeding and was told I have o positive blood Hmm it will all be worth it in the end when the baby is here! Just getting here feels as long as anything! Smile
