7 weeks pregnant and brown discharge

Hi Everyone

Hoping for some guidance from others who may have been in this situation.

I am 7 weeks pregnant today and I woke up this morning with brown discharge when I wiped after the toilet. Mid morning there was a slight tinge of pink but then it stopped.

This evening I have just been to the toilet and there is lots of brown stringy discharge.

Has anyone else had this and either had a good or bad outcome? I do have cramping which I have had for the last week but isn't painful, more like period pain.

I had an early scan at 5 weeks and 6 days where a fetal pole and heartbeat was seen so know there is definitely something there. Just worrying now that it is the dreaded M.

Hi lovely, as easy as it is to say try not to worry it could be a number of things. I had exactly the same and it was caused by irritating my cerix having nooky. It could also be implantation bleeding coming away. I'm now 27weeks and all fine. If it gets any heavy or pains give you local epu a call. Got everything crossed for you xx

I had a missed miscarriage at 7 weeks and dark brown stringy discharge was what I had. I've heard other people have positive outcomes too. Good luck to you xxx

@vixfirsttime hi ! I have gone through exactly the same thing as you ! Like down to a T , it's really worrying when you see something like that for sure I also had a scan at 5.3 weeks but no heart beat was detected which probably made me feel even worse ! After that the discharge kept coming and then turned pinky then brown again I definitely thought a MC as I had one previous cycle so prepared myself for the blood to come but nothing so I booked a private scan and sure enough at 7.1 weeks there was a little heart beat and everything seemed fine they couldn't even tell me why I had been having this but it happened with my first baby too and he's perfectly healthy and went on to have a healthy pregnancy ! I mean with you saying you've seen a heart beat and theres no fresh blood I honestly would try to just relax ! I'm sure everything is fine ! X

I also had a early scan at 6 weeks where they confirmed fetal pole and heart beat, a week later I started to have brown discharge and panicked as we all do but it turned out to be nothing and went within 2 days, try not to worry too much unless it turns to red blood and you're in pain then it could just be implantation bleeding and completely normal. Hope all goes well xx

I had exactly this at 7 weeks, called the EPU and they got me in for an early scan which to our surprise showed a clear heartbeat. The discharge stopped after a week and I am now 31 weeks. It was so scary at the time...keeping everything crossed for you, I would call the EPU that's what they are there for.

I've had the same since last week. Brown mucousy spotting on Monday then Thursday then a tiny amount today. All when I wipe, I've also had cramps but I've had them pretty much the whole way as I also have chronic pain. EPU wouldn't see me since last week Monday as I have my 12week scan this week but I've been so stressed thinking it's a MMC. Had a private scan on the 4th at 9+2 which showed a wiggling baby with a lovely heartbeat but now I'm worried it may have been the last time because when I had the 1st brown spotting/bleed my uterus felt light/empty.

Today I'm having cramps that felt like round ligament stretching but since the bleed I'm not sure anymore. It's the stabbing type in different places but I really feel like i don't trust my body at the moment

Thank you everyone for your replies. Rang advice line today and EPU rang me back and asked me to come in for a scan tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

I have my fingers crossed for you too! Let's hope we just both have very active beans in there creating this havoc for us!
