I'm just curious how similar different pregnancies have been with different children. My first I was quite lucky. No symptoms for a while, the odd bit of nausea which I could have easily passed off as something else and I was more tired for lack of caffeine. I didn't get any swelling or anything but I started growing generally very tired and had insomnia in the 3rd trimester. My bump was big but all in the bump. I'm curious as to how a second one might be!

Couldn't be any more different. First baby no sickness, tiny bump til 23 weeks ish, only got pelvic/hip pain about 36 weeks (baby girl). Currently 22 weeks with number 2 and I spent the first 12 weeks hugging the toilet, very obvious belly by 12 weeks, bump at 22 weeks now the same size as it was when I was about 28 weeks with number 1, hips and back have been sore since 11 weeks ish (baby boy). Also baby 1 lived in my ribs and number 2 is v low.

I'm 37 weeks pregnant with DC2.

I had PGP in my first pregnancy and suspected I'd have it again in my second; I was right and unfortunately it's been much worse Sad

I didn't have much nausea at all with DC1, only a tiny bit when hungry and easily kept at bay with snacks! But the nausea was worse this time around, I only actually vomited once but did feel pretty constant low-level nausea. It eased after first trimester though.

So based on my experience it is generally similar to first pregnancy but symptoms a bit worse.

DC1 was a boy and DC2 is a girl, don't know if that makes any difference! Anecdotally I heard nausea can be worse with girls (although I know women who have bad HG when pregnant with boys, too).

Oh and YY to bump being much bigger much sooner!

First two identical, third very different for first two trimesters but now similar to the other two at the end. First two labours were also identical!

Quite severe sickness with both, but otherwise completely different e.g. exhaustion at different points and not to the same extent, bump a completely different shape (this one is up under my ribs, which really restricts my movement - I’m only 24 weeks and can’t touch my feet!). Never had acid reflux with my first, do with this one, but sickness has passed now (which it never did with first pregnancy). Difficulty going to the loo this time, which I never had with first, but on the bright side I don’t need to wee anywhere near as often.

So completely different!

Pretty similar - nausea but not vomiting with both, that ended at around 13 weeks. Put on quite a lot of weight with both. Bumps looked the same, weight gain same areas. Felt happy and relaxed through second and third trimesters.

Totally different, first was great second I felt sick almost the whole time.

Both very similar so far (29 weeks with no.2). Horrendous morning sickness (HG) with both. I think with DS (no. 1) it got better a bit earlier although it was a bit worse in the worst weeks. Massive bump in both pregnancies (all bump). I honestly couldn’t believe it when the sonographer said no. 2 was a girl because the pregnancies had been nearly identical! My hips/pelvis have been much worse in this pregnancy though unfortunately.

Night and day here! First I was so sick and tired all through first trimester and intense heartburn at the end. Now 35 weeks with second and felt fine and not much sickness all first trimester, but now am exhausted all the time (yes, having a toddler doesn’t help!)

In fact I remember being so unwell during first pregnancy, I was adamant that I wasn’t going to do it again! Thankfully, a good labour and not too bad DS changed my mind.

Again, boy first time and girl now- not sure if that does make any difference.

First one I was in my teens and still riding a bike. Got a bit tired in the afternoon.

2nd and 3rd in my mid and late 30s - hated it. Physio, disgusting tiredness.

Never again
