Hi ladies , did anybody have an early scan at bang on 6 weeks? . I’m 6 weeks tomorrow and because I’m away for a week and have had previous losses at varying stages I wanted some kind of reassurance but I know it’s quite early. I ovulated on cd14 the month we conceived so I’m hoping it won’t be too early to see a heartbeat. Did anybody else have a scan at 6 weeks exactly and see a heartbeat?

I had a scan at 7 weeks, was dated at 6 weeks and saw a heartbeat. Baby just looked like a little dot but you could see the heartbeat flashing. Think it really varies at this stage - it is possible but try not to worry too much if you don’t, every day makes such a difference so early on. Xx

Hi OP. It's unlikely (though not impossible) a heartbeat will be present at 6 weeks. It usually shows from 7-8 weeks onwards, so don't be too worried if there isn't one when you go for your scan. If I were you I'd wait until you get back from your trip but I understand that you don't want to hang around. I get the not knowing will drive you crazy, so if you don't want to delay your scan, maybe book another one for when you get back?

I’ve had scans at 6 weeks +1/2 days and Have seen a heartbeat every time.

I would wait if you can. Totally understand after losses you want the reassurance I was in the same boat and went for a scan at 6 weeks but they couldn’t confirm viability as no heartbeat, I had to come back in 10 days and the wait was agonising. I wish I’d waited a week. I’ve since measured around 3 days behind ever since, so it really was just too early. Even a couple of days will make the difference of seeing a heartbeat or not

I've had scans at 5+5, 6 and 6+3 with each pregnancy and saw a heartbeat each time.

I would probably wait a week if you can’t. 6 it might not be there and you might be left with more worry. 7 if all is well it will definitely be there. I had a scan at 7+2 and heart beat was clear.

HI @fizzyblush,

I had an early scan last week at 5+6 and we saw a heartbeat! Not much to look at other than a 'diamond ring' shape. Good luck!!

You might or might not, depends on a lot of things such as where baby is lying in the uterus, your weight, etc. It will almost certainly require an internal scan. If a heartbeat is not seen they'll probably ask you to come back in in 1-2 weeks.

Heya I had an early scan done yesterday I was 6+4 and we saw the heart beat. They measure us as 6+4 too which is great because sometime you get measured early then you think you are. Don't worry if there isn't a heart beat that's what is developing at this present time. But you could be lucky enough like we were to see it. Believe me it's such an amazing feeling seeing the little heart hopping around xxx best of luck

Also I thought I'd add they did an vaginal scan best way to see at such an early time.
