35 weeks, and 1cm dilated and crampy

I'm 35 weeks almost exactly, 2nd baby (1st was emcs) and have a question about cervix 😂 was checked due to bad back, swelling etc and 1cm dilated, cervix very soft.
Does this mean anything at all? In this heat, I'm certainly hoping for popping sooner rather than later, especially as baby girls cot arrived today so finally prepared! Though also would like her to stay in for another couple of weeks so she's properly cooked ❤️
Lots of cramps but no contractions, anyone had similar and baby arrived early/before due date?
Thanks!

Side note, because I don't want to make 2 threads, I'm having trouble sleeping because my hips feel like they are being pulled apart, I've got a tens machine and wondered if using that would give me any relief, and also if it's safe for baby? Any advice welcome!
