My booking appointment with the midwife has been cancelled 3 times. When did anybody else have theirs? It’s getting later in my pregnancy.

With dc5 I didn't have my booking appt until 16 weeks because of a series of cock ups Hmm. The other 4 I was booked 9-11 weeks.

Sanch1 · 12/08/2020 11:30

8 or 9 weeks here, all 3 times.

Margo34 · 12/08/2020 11:33

10 weeks.

Summer41 · 12/08/2020 11:37

First pregnancy, booking appointment and scan done together at 12 weeks.

2nd pregnancy, booking appointment at 11w and scan at 13w (there was a delay because I moved GP practice).

3rd pregnancy, booking appointment at 8w, scan would have been 12w if I hadn't miscarried.

4th pregnancy, booking appointment at 11w and scan at 12w.

Where I live they seem to leave them as late as possible but get them done before the 12w scan.

5 weeks but I think it was because they had to do them over the phone and I found out really early. Had a mmc as well earlier in the year. Xx

scotgal99 · 12/08/2020 11:45

Over the phone at 8 weeks & then had bloods etc taken at 12 week scan in the hospital.

foreverfrustrated09 · 12/08/2020 11:46

im having mine at 4+5 but i belive thats becasue of medical condtions i have

NoGinNotComingIn · 12/08/2020 12:46

Around 9 weeks each time, they don't tend to do them early because of the risk of miscarriage. I was pregnant and had to cancel one as I miscarried at 7 weeks, I guess it saves resources having them 9-12 weeks.

Youvegotafriendinme · 12/08/2020 12:49

DS was at 8 weeks (3.5 years ago)

This time, I Had the majority of it over the phone at 9.5 weeks then saw the midwife at 12 weeks for urine and weight to be done.

It seems pretty crap that it’s all done over the phone - I don’t think we actually see a midwife until week 25 here! Although I’ve heard they might be reintroducing face to face appointments next month.

Snorlax86 · 13/08/2020 09:14

I had a face to face booking appt at 10 weeks, the trust has gone back to face to face appts. The scan around 13 weeks. It took about 2 weeks from doing a self referral for the midwifery service to get the appt letter through.

Darcy86 · 13/08/2020 10:41

I had my bloods first, when I was about 7.5 weeks, and then my booking appointment was 2 weeks later at about 9.5 weeks.
