Positive stories from early scan

I'm 6 weeks pregnant and had a bleed last week. Was scanned at the hospital and they could see the gestational sac and the yolk sac but no fetal pole or heartbeat yet. I was only 5 weeks 6 days (based on ovulation date) when I was scanned so I'm hoping it was too early. I have a follow up scan on Friday.

I've had 3 previous recurrent miscarriages that all started with a similar bleed. So am very nervous.

I'm trying to stay positive. I figure I might as well try because what can I change? Does anyone have any positive stories from early bleeds and uncertain early scans?

Me - I do!
Same as you, no heartbeat etc on early scan.
Was told to watch out for signs of ectopic, so that night when passed out due to pain we called 999.
Admitted to hospital where the very next day from the previous scan there was a heart beat clear as day.
My lovely strawberry blonde daughter turned one last month.

I had the same with my first pregnancy with my DS. I had a MC prior to that pregnancy so was really anxious when I started bleeding with DS, same as you had a scan couldn't see heartbeat yet. Think it was pretty much the same could see gestational sac and yolk sac but no fetal pole no heartbeat. By my dates I was 6 weeks but they set me back by a week so I was rescanned a week later really expecting the worst and there was my little DS with a heartbeat pounding away! I also had several more bleeds so had several early scans and thankfully he was all fine (turned out to be a cervical erosion causing the bleeds), he's nearly 2 now! Same here. I had a scan when I should have been 7 weeks by dates, sac only measured between 5/6 weeks and no fetal pole or heartbeat.

Had another one 10 weeks and there was a little gummy bear shaped thing with a heart chugging away. At my 12 week scan baby had caught up and was measuring bang on average for my dates, and I'm now watching my belly jiggle as I get punched in the bladder.

That's good to know @Addler. I didn't realise they could catch up with growth.

Had the follow up scan and saw a heartbeat. It's measuring at 6 weeks 6 days which matches my dates.
