Has anyone used an IPL hair remover on their belly during early pregnancy?

I used an intense-pulsed light (IPL) hair remover on my belly before I knew I was pregnant and am worried I could have harmed the embryo. I've had some unexpected vaginal bleeding in the past when I've used it on a higher setting so only used it on a low setting after that but that makes me believe the light or heat can reach or have an effect on the womb... so I'm worried about the possible damage to the embryo. Has anyone done similar and had a healthy baby or any complications?

Your baby will not have been harmed. I think the bleeding you have had in the past will just have been a coincidence and nothing to do with the IPL. Please try not to worry and congratulations! Thanks

Probably harmless but why risk it?

It will be one of those things where it wouldn’t be ethical to test if it is safe to use in pregnancy, so they say don’t just to be safe. Try to relax-I’m sure you won’t have done any harm. Hopefully your scan isn’t far off to put your mind at rest.

Yes, I'm hoping my first scan will look completely normal and that will reassure me.
