I’m 34 and have gone my whole life without knowing what heartburn feels like... until I fell pregnant! Don’t get me wrong, I feel mightily blessed to be pregnant but oh my god the heartburn! Please tell me it goes 😂😭

And thank you for the omeprazole tips! Might be having a word with the GP soon! I’m only 14 weeks so a looooong way to go

I agree with the assorted Maxwells. Mine went when I had the baby but I'm definitely more prone now and for about six years after having my first I couldn't drink red wine as it gave me terrible heartburn (you'll be happy to know I've made up for it since).

I was the same as you! Never really understood what heartburn was until my 2nd pregnancy and then oh my. I found avoiding bakery products helped a bit. And yes, it went away as soon as the baby was born and bizarrely, despite 2 more babies, never had it since.

Another weird thing, I have heard an 'old wives tale' link between having heartburn and the baby having a full head of hair. In my case, I would believe this - the baby who gave me heartburn looked like a hedgehog. So get the comb ready...
