Feeling lightheaded if it's been a few hours since eating? 23 weeks atm. Is this normal?

Hi, so I'm still being sick about once a week which is so much better but I've noticed I get hungrier more often now. Is this normal? I had lunch at 1 today and then by 4, I started getting very lightheaded and felt weak. Couldn't think why as I've been drinking water. OH thought it's probably because I need food so I've just eaten now and feel much better. I feel constantly hungry even after having a filling meal, within half an hour I start feeling hungry but I definitely don't give in because I don't want to eat more than I should be.

If you're worried about over eating, try eating less each time so you can eat more often. I'm 23+1 and have really noticed an increase in the hunger the past week or two as well as feeling quite unwell if I go too long without eating by mistake. Remember that baby is starting to make big weight gains in the next few weeks so it's important to keep eating.

@RestorationInsanity it's been the biggest task trying to adjust to several small meals a day. Being at work also makes it difficult. I'm generally eating 3 set times a day - Breakfast, lunch and dinner but the hunger is starting to kick in between each periods. I try and have small snacks like a fruit or yoghurt when this happens in between my main meals but unfortunately a lot of the times my morning sickness also makes it difficult to want to go ahead and eat. I'm also worried if I eat snacks in between I might be too full to eat anything for my main meals. I have tried the several smaller meals every day but this means I wake up at ridiculous times like 3am absolutely starving!! Really finding it difficult atm.

Have you spoken to your midwife or GP about the ongoing morning sickness? As you're well into your second trimester and it hasn't stopped and is affecting what you can eat, perhaps they could prescribe you something.

Im 23 weeks and exactly the same! Sometimes I feel a bit faint though because my blood pressure is low but being hungrier is as you’d expect at this stage as the baby is growing rapidly. It’s frustrating but I’m trying to eat little and often to combat it (I’m having to be extra careful about weight gain though because of high BMI. I’d be more relaxed if I was slimmer a the start of the pregnancy)

At 23 weeks my appetite increased to that of an active teenage boy!! I load my plates with veg which helps to feel full but without loads of extra calories.
