Is it possible to be pregnant after no period months5

Hi just wondering if anyone had experienced anything similar or can give me any advice.

Me and my partner started trying for a baby about a year ago and I've not been on any contraception for at least a year and a half maybe more. I came off my period at the end of december and haven't had a period since. Me and my partner thought I could be pregnant but after countless negative tests we lost hope. I went to the doctors after the third month of no period, but unfortunately due to covid they are unable to send me for any scans or tests. I'm currently on cycle day 229 and I'm late for 196 days, I've always been irregular but never this long, normally two months at most inbetween periods. We've given up on the idea of getting pregnant any time soon so we haven't been thinking about it or tracking dates or anything. But on monday night/tuesday morning I started to have very light brown/pink spotting, I thought this could be the start of a period but it was very inconsistent and not like it normally is. This didnt change or get heavier and then completely stopped last night. I've done some research and it sounds like an implantation bleed, but I dont know if that's even possible since I've not been on since last year. I'm going to wait until monday to do a test to see if I do end up coming on or not, but I just feel like I'm driving myself insane with the idea that I could be pregnant. If anyone could help or has any advice it would be much appreciated

My friend has only ever had one recognisable period in her life, she’s 50 and has four children.

I know it can take a while for normal periods to resume especially if you'd been on it a while, but 18 months is ages! I didn't have any for 3 years, was breastfeeding then had a coil fitted...then got pregnant with the coil in. She came out holding it. I'd request another appointment and see if anything can be fine now that some services are resuming ( my sterilisation appointment has just been booked in after being cancelled in April)

You ovulate 2 weeks before having a period so yes you can get pregnant without having had a period.

I have experienced similar issues when I came off the pill when I was trying with our eldest.

I came off the pill in October (it was just before we went on holiday), I did have periods after then, but they stopped around February/March. Around the same time I started a new job and I put it down to stress etc. I then didn't have another period until what I thought was a period in the end of June. I bled for one day and then it stopped. Then a couple of days later had more spotting. I got a positive test a few days later after I had morning sickness type symptoms (I had a hangover that never went away). So the bleeding was implantation.

I also had implantation bleeding with my youngest, bled for one day when my period was due and then it stopped. Positive test a few days later. I had come off the pill six months before that though and had regular periods prior to conceiving him.
